Best: Dawn run-out tide

Rocky structure attracts bream, luderick and the occasional jewfish. Fish the eddies on the up-current side.

Best: Dusk into top of tide

Shallow sandy flats — yabby pump for live nippers and target whiting and flathead on the rising tide.

Best: Mid-morning rising tide

Mangrove-lined channels upstream — mangrove jacks, estuary cod, and prime mud crab country in the warmer months.

Best: Top of tide, warm overcast days

Seagrass flats — strong holding spot for blue swimmer crabs in summer. Drop pots on the flats edge.

Best: Summer, slack high tide
